Bangkok or Bust!

Dear friends,

Beginning September 1, my darling daughter and recent graduate, May Overmyer will be working as an INVESTIGATIONS and LAW ENFORCEMENT DEVELOPMENT INTERN with INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE MISSION (IJM) in their BANGKOK field office. While it sounds like she is joining an elite group of highly paid, well equipped Super Heroes sent to earth to fight crime and beat up bad guys, in reality she is joining an elite team of volunteer Super Heroes sent around the globe to fight crime (mainly human trafficking and all the evil and issues that go with it) and help the authorities put bad guys in jail! :)

IJM is an international NGO which aims to protect the poor from violence by working alongside local law enforcement and governments to rescue slaves and prosecute slave owners so effectively that the business model for slavery becomes unprofitable. To date, they have rescued over 49,000 slaves world wide. BUT…she needs our help.

1. Please join with me in daily PRAYING for her and her team's safety-- that God would bless, protect, and strengthen her team.

2. If you feel so lead—please DONATE to help her reach her goal of $10,000 which covers her flight, housing, food and expenses for the year. (Yes, we should all move to Bangkok!)

It is so simple: CLICK HERE, ENTER THE AMOUNT you would like to give (any amount is welcome!) and then choose "ONE TIME". That's it.

You can be a SUPER HERO. And you can help her to be one too. Thank you so much!

And God bless you!

"The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me;

He has sent me to bring good news to the afflicted, to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim liberty to the captives, release to the prisoners…" Isaiah 61:1

Dear Lord,

We live in a country where freedom is so greatly enjoyed and celebrated. Please watch over those oppressed by poverty, slavery and abuse unspeakable. Please protect and bless all of those who are fighting the good fight to end wrongs of every kind. Open my eyes to see those around me who are held captive by oppression right here in my own city. Help me to be a super hero to them through prayer, words of encouragement and acts of justice, kindness and mercy. Help me to see them as You do, as Your beloved. Help me to be more like You.

I ask this in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
