Jesus
Super cool: the Name “Jesus” = ”God saves”. Contained within the Name of Je-sus is the powerful and holy Name of God. Yah + shuah. Yah is short for Yahweh (YHWH), and shuah is from yeshuah which means "to save, rescue."
After performing a spectacular miracle in the Name of Jesus, in Acts 4:18 the disciples were rounded up and ordered by the authorities to, “not speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus!” Catechism 2666 states, ”His name is the only one that contains the presence it signifies-Jesus is the Risen One, and whoever invokes the name of Jesus is welcoming the Son of God who loved him and who gave himself up for him.”
Are you being tempted this Lent? Say the name JESUS! The devil flees at the Name of our Lord.
“So submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
Christians throughout the ages have repeated the name of Jesus up to hundreds of times a day to connect their daily lives to the all powerful and loving God. Simply let the name of Jesus flow from your lips following the rhythm of your breathing: inhale “Je”, exhale: “sus”.
This simple prayer technique can help to make Jesus the center of your daily life, turning your every breath into a constant prayer. You can keep Him on your lips and in your heart and mind as you go about your everyday business. Try it! It’s a powerful way to spend your day! I know this one very easy practice helps me to keep earthly things in perspective as I take a deep breath, glancing my focus heavenward, offering all I do simply and joyfully to the Lord with the Name of Jesus on my lips. Ahhh... JE-SUS!
“At the name of Jesus, every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:10-11.
