lap

*A picture paints a thousand words.

Place yourself in this one.

Imagine the Father eternally holding, supporting you on His lap, lovingly breathing the Holy Spirit into you, even in your darkest hour.

The Blessed Mother is seen here as well, cuddling, nurturing, giving sustenance from Her own being.

Why ever worry? They've got us!

“Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Dear Lord,

Why am I ever anxious when I know that You hold me always? Keep me, dear Lord, right in Your lap, forever watching and protecting, breathing Your Life-giving Spirit into me, supporting me, no matter what path I must walk. Please give me the grace to always say, "Jesus I choose to Trust in You, my wounded Healer."

I ask this in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

*This is a miniature ivory carving from the 15the century I spotted in the treasury room of the Cloisters Museum (a branch of the Met) in NYC. What is pictured is no more than about two inches square. Such enormous and beautiful truth is depicted in such an incredibly tiny package.
