hardbody

With the summer here, all I can think about is bathing suit season. For some, this is a delightful thought. For others, say those who have had multiple children, getting into a swimsuit is NOT the happiest of images. How I long for the perfect body, but in reality, if I am truthful, I am not willing to put in the work and sacrifice required to have it.

I will, however, have a perfect glorified body one day--in heaven! By God’s mercy. Am I willing to do what it takes now to prepare my soul for that eternal reality?

Want to lose a few pounds of “FLESH?”

Here’s a little spiritual work out for you:

Pray this: ”Not MY WILL but Thine be done.”

Yep- that is the PERFECT Prayer.

Want to tone up and flex your “SOUL MUSCLES”?

Pray this: ”Not my will, but THINE be done.”

Want to eat PURE ORGANIC GRACE?

Pray this: ”Not my will, but Thine be DONE.”

If you pray this prayer, and REALLY mean it...watch out. God, in His loving kindness and in an act of extreme mercy and grace will take you at your word and free you from what keeps you heavily earth bound and attached to your spiritually flabby flesh.

This is not a prayer for babies. Babies want what they want when they want it. NO, this is for the spiritual hardbodies and those who want to look like the saints--cut, ripped and pumped--spiritually speaking, of course.

Here is what Wilfrid Stinissen has to say on the matter:

“We are afraid (God) will take advantage of our trust. How many there are who do not dare to pray: ‘Do with me as you will. Whatever you do with me, I thank you. I am ready for everything. I consent to all. May only your will be done with me and with all you have created!’ They nevertheless pray many times a day: ’Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’”

So...what are you? A baby? Or a saint in the making?

“More than that, I even consider everything as a loss because of the supreme good of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have accepted the loss of all things and I consider them so much rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having any righteousness of my own based on the law but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God, depending on faith to know him and the power of his resurrection and [the] sharing of his sufferings by being conformed to his death, if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead.” Philippians 3:8-11

Dear Lord,

HELP ME! I am a fat baby who wants to be a SAINT! Only by your grace Lord...only by your grace. Help me to believe that You will not take advantage of my trust in You and to see ALL things as part of Your loving plan for me. Help me to be able to say from deep within my being…”Jesus, I trust in You! Not MY WILL, but YOURS be done!” Lord, please help to make me a spiritual hardbody! Help me to be ROCK solid- like You!

I ask this in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
